backpacking
Last fall, a group of my friends and their dads went with my dad and I backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. We went from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. On Friday we only hiked 2 miles because we started hiking at 4:00. Then on Saturday we hiked 10 miles which was pretty tiring. But when we got to our campsite it was worth it. There was a small lake with a rope swing near where we were camping (and in the morning we walked there). Then that evening we ate super and hiked up the mountain (without our backpacks) =+) to a view to see the lights all over Lebanon valley. It was amazing! Then we turned around to leave only to find a copperhead right in front of us! That was my first time seeing one. After that we hiked back down and went to bed. In the morning we ate breakfast and went to the lake. Then we hiked to our cars and drove home.
